Birthday Bunting Flags
Last weekend was our giant family reunion in honor of my Grandpa’s 90th birthday. It was so much fun and I’ll be posting photos soon! I made a lot of items for the birthday party, one of which was a long string of bunting flags to hang from the tree we were all eating under. Here what you’ll need:
(4) Yards of Fabric : I used 1 yard of each color which made the flags long enough to wrap around our tree more than twice. I highly doubt you’d need THIS much fabric. You’re call!
Scissors
Ruler
Sewing Machine

Cut your material into 6 inch width strips. (Or a smaller width if you want your triangles to be smaller.) Then measure and lightly mark every six inches along one side of your fabric. Then do the same on the other side, but instead measure every other every other six inches. Make sense? So your marks should be alternating along the top and bottom. Then using your scissors, start cutting at one mark and slice up to the next above it. Then come back down. Then go back up. You’ll end up cutting out perfect triangles.
Then, with your sewing machine threaded, run on a slowish speed, feeding the triangles into the needle one at a time. Keep your pattern random for best results!

Once you are finished, hang your flag somewhere fun and it’ll be the perfect addition to your party!
