Jack + Lola
Sometimes our cats are just so weird. Walked upstairs the other day to find Lola hanging out in the office, like this…

And Jack (in a box!) was freaking out the other day over nothing…

They’re so entertaining.

Cat Bowls
Last night, while T.J. and I were sitting on the couch, I was super bored. T.J. was rocking a game of FIFA… and I wasn’t doing anything. (Aka, not fun for me. I really don’t like “relaxing” all that much.) So I got to thinking about the trip I took to a local thrift store last week. I was pretty disappointed that the only thing I walked out of the thrift store with was four wooden bowls that I snagged for $2.00. I mean, they were cool and all… but I had no purpose for them. Fast forward to last night, enter bordem… and I realize… “I have four bowls. I HAVE FOUR CATS!!!” I ran upstairs to grab a pack of black sticker letters, from my craft room, that I’d purchased for another project (but never ended up using because the letters were too small). I cut out the letters, wiped out the bowls and stuck the letters to the inside. After two coats of white craft paint, and several hours of drying time, I carefully peeled off each letter to reveal our cat’s names! I also clear coated the inside of each bowl after removing the letters, just so they’re easier to wipe out from time to time for the cat’s sake. The project only cost me $2.00 since I had all of the additional supplies (letters, paint, etc) from other projects. Score!
I love the way they turned out!! We feed our cats twice a day – and by the time they eat they’re hungry enough that they eat everything. (Which is better for your cats, by the way, than leaving a bowl of food out at all times.) So I love that as they eat their little portion of food, it was start to reveal their names. Just adorable. Hope this project inspires you to get up off the couch and make something for your home. You won’t regret it! Unnnnnless it ends up here, of course.

Daily Life – June 13th, 2012
Last month, while having my camera in hand for another project, I snapped a few images of our home to remember June 2012 by. I should do that more often. Things have already changed so much since these images were taken. All good things of course!

Don’t worry, I’m not trying to work or anything…
So, the other day I was shooting the little blue wiener dog we sell at our walk in love. store – and I was hoping for shots like this…

But most of my shots ended up looking like the ones below. Don’t worry guys, I’m not trying to work or anything.

Closet Cats
A little over a month ago, T.J. re-did our bedroom closet. Originally, it was laid out really stupid. There were big wooden, “built-in” shelves that took up more room then they should have. T.J.’s idea was brilliant – just one GIANT hanging rod across the entire closet – and then I had the idea to lay one of our ever incredible and useful IKEA Lack shelves along the bottom to hold our shoes and pants. It’s convenient, I love it!
As always, the cats noticed that something new was in the house and had to investigate. I just so happened to have my camera, too!

Penny + Jack-Jack
The other day I walked into the office to find that Jack-Jack had trapped Penny in a box and wasn’t letting her come out – which is hysterical, because Penny can be really mean and is usually the one doing things like this to everyone else. I’m glad I grabbed my camera to capture Jack-Jack’s one victorious moment… even though it was short lived.
